I have a Sako 7MM Mag no. 505782 and was curious on the year and value. It has the bear and rosewood inlays in the wood and the condition is excellent.

    Mid-'70s manufacture, $1200 rifle.

There are MANY factors that can affect value.

Amen to that! Other than condition (which itself can vary in the eye of the beholder), an individual's perception of the quality (beauty) of the wood is probably the most variable factor in what a Deluxe Sako will bring. Of course, the caliber is also critical, with more common ones like .30-06 and 7mm bringing a bit less that some scarcer calibers. Deergoose's ball park of $1,200 is a good average for a "Garcia" era Deluxe Finnbear in 7mm Rem.

Typically, between individuals guns trade at a bit lower price than from dealer to buyer since most dealers are in a position to stand behind what they sell and make it good to the buyer if a problem is discovered.
