• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

stock screws for L579 action

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Can't help you about any in NZ, but here in the US they are available from Brownell's. Can't imagine any import restrictions on screws. They are slotted head type.

Yeah Beretta emailed me saying they have them but will not sell to the public I have to go through some gunshops they listed for me to contact. If this does not work I will try good ole Brownells
Thanks
Wish I could get the hex heads though.:eek:hwell:

freerange- I ordered a set of Socket head B-Square action screws for an FN Mauser so I could try them on a L57 (a bit longer screws than the L579). They worked just fine. I don't remember if I had to shorten them some with my grinder. Brownells has them also.-Misako

Just got an answer from Brownells and they reckon their FN Mauser B square action front screw is .750 long and rear is 1.510
Where as my front is 1.167 and rear is 1.581
Could get away with the rear as you say a bit of grinding but can't see my grinding something that is already short as per the front screw!!!
Getting shafted for $70 NZ plus postage for Sako screws in country. Christ I bought the rifle brand new in the seventies for $300...wonder what a pair of screws were valued at then?????????????????
Feckin robbery

Just contact B square directly and see if they will help. They used to make the screws for the Sakos. Can't say if they still do or not.-Misako
