• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

AII Mannlicher Barrel Length

I am looking at an AII 243 Mannlicher on an internet site, but I am confused about the barrel length. The owner says it is 19" to the bolt face or 18.5" to the front of the receiver. I thought barrel lengths on the Mannlichers were either 18.5" or 20" to the bolt face. Can anyone help with this? The barrel appears to be intact with factory sights. Thanks in advance for any help.

Larry- I tried to find that rifle and didn't. I did find a decent pre 68 .243 but no All 243. Might it have been custom? Sorry, I can't help with the .308. Those have been hard to come by.-Misako

Misako: Thanks very much for the reply...oh those 308 Mannlichers...
Anyway, at GunBroker.com check out Auction # 436600760 and let me know what you think...although it is a 243, it looks pretty clean. Thanks again for the help!

Doesn't look messed with. I just plugged in Sako Mannlicher in the search. Explains why I couldn't find it. Decent rifle. If you are not looking at a collection factor and just want a good hunter, I would wait until a .308 comes up. But that is the way I am.-Misako

Thanks for the help. I think I will wait on another 308...they are hard to beat. Thanks again!
