• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Nice, nice gun. Seems to be a broad price range on these. At the shows I go to--$1500-2000.00. Online, maybe $1100-1400.00.

Please don't tell me you waltzed into it for $750.00. I've pretty much given up hope of snagging one for my kind of price.

If I thought I could get one anywhere for under 1K I'd snap it up immediately.

A gun shop may have some room for negotiation. Less than at a show, on average. My experience, anyway.

The vintage Leupold 2-7x28 is very nicely mated to the Mannlicher in Redfield rings, so that's worth around $200 added to the value of the gun. It appears to be a late Firearms International (or possibly early Garcia) with no grip cap and the three-point checkering pattern on the forearm, which I don't regard as quite as desirable as the earlier version, but still a very desirable rifle. Assuming the condition is in the 98% range I would feel pretty happy to get it for $1,500, but $2,000 is a bit of a stretch. Negotiated to a price somewhere in between those figures might be fair to all.

The serial number is within the range which the Club has in its factory records. You could request the production date and shipping info from the Club's Factory Records Service if you wanted to verify its age and provenance.

Yeah, 'ol Bocephus likes the Sako rifles. As I recall, I think he really liked Deluxe Finnbears. I wish I could say I own one from his collection, but I don't, and have only seen a couple for sale over the years.

Nice Sako, by the way. I hope you get it.
