• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

3 Lug Bolt

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

It's not convenient for me to take a photo right now, but the difference is simple and readily apparent (and only occurs on the L61R action): The "third" lug is directly in front of the bolt handle on the right hand side and fits a recess in the rear action ring ("bridge"). It is the same size as the bolt guide and looks like a blued extension of the bright bolt guide. In other words, the bolt guide rotates between the right (bottom) front lug and the "third" rear lug. Hope this helps.

Hi i have purchased a l61r that a drunken fool lost the bolt to it is a 2 lug gun i found a 3 lug bolt cheap if i machine the 3rd lug off will the bolt fit the action

Don- Here's a picture of a 3 lug bolt. I've rotated the bolt guide so the lug is easy to see. It is about 1" in front of the bolt handle.-sorry, I don't have a two lug but you get the picture anyway.-Mike

"HI I HAVE PURCHASED A L61R THAT A DRUNKEN FOOL LOST THE BOLT TO IT IS A 2 LUG GUN I FOUND A 3 LUG BOLT CHEAP IF I MACHINE THE 3RD LUG OFF WILL THE BOLT FIT THE ACTION "

There were some differences between the two-lug and three-lug bolts in the way the bolt guides were held in place. Also, some of the two-lug bolts had a pin protruding from the left rear above the tang. I'm not sure that any of these differences would be a problem, but you'll need to do some careful measuring before using such a replacement.
