Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Yes, I couldn't resist the Bison floorplate. I also have a "Vines" floorplate on an L57 Deluxe. And yes, my Sako-Mauser Deluxe has a "Fishgods" floorplate -- but I'm yet to see the Fishgods on an L61R.
Hi all. It appears that another one of these l579’s with the bison floor plate is for sale here in Canada. This is not my add and I do not know the legitimacy of it. I know that there was some question regarding the authenticity of a bison engraving on a l579 and some thought it out of place. I would be interested to hear comments regarding this one. I’ve definitely got my eye on it.

As I noted in another thread, it is not really possible with only internet photos to say for certain whether a stock has been refinished or not. However, there are some hints that this one has been (in addition to its having a replacement pad). If that is the case then I think it is a bit over-priced at about $1840 USD, but I'll admit that the Canadian market may vary from the U.S. market, and my valuation certainly may be at odds with others. However, it does have a CAD $500 scope on it, so, combined with the rare floorplate its price may be in the ballpark.
