These bases and rings came on an AII .243AI which I picked up recently. I haven't seen them before. Does anyone recognise them?

They appear well made and I like the little locking tab than moves across to fasten the base to the dovetail.

The Allen key head of the screw which pulls the tab across is on the bolt side (RHS) and the large round component on the LHS (behind the hole for the ring screw) is the head of the locking tab - it moves into the base as the screw pulls it across.

Season's Greeting for New Year's Day
and all the best to everyone for 2019.

    Cheers

G'day Piper, happy new year to you as well.

I can't see your photos so can't help there. Your new purchase sounds interesting.

Andrew and I still longingly discuss that sweet little L46 hornet.........

Yes that lovely little 22 k Hornet

Chris not much help from me but I bought a Sako 691 in 25/06 that had those same mounts.

The ring attachment reminds me of Australian made Hillver

Ausinel for sure, but much later model than we see on most old sako,s here in aust. Much rounded edges compared to the older ring sets.
early ausinel rings attach the same way for both front & rear as this pair do, at least all the sets i own do.
old ring sets i have all had the ring size stamped ie 1 or 26,on the bottom of the ring . This one does not.
    Just my 2 cents worth.
