• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Wondering around the net (waiting for my next grand dad chore to be announced by my visiting son/his wife/ my grand children) I came across this ad on GunBroker under Shooting Investments. It's an early model Finnwolf with scope bas´s (blocks?) that are unfamiliar to me. Can someone educate me? I have no interest in the rifle as I have 3 Finnwolfs, am old, retired, and broke.

Cheers!

It'sw an auction so I didn't think one should post that on a forum. If you go to Gun Broker, search Finnwolf and look at the offerings you will see it as described in my post.
Unlike many other forums, we do not forbid posting links to auctions, when it is done to provide information or ask for comment. What is forbidden is using the forum to post links to your own auctions on another platform.

Thanks! I figured. it out anyhoot. They are Optilock bases. I have only recently had a rifle with Optilock bases and rings. So far the jury is out on my feeling about them. I have low mounts and they are higher than I like. They also gave me issues with a scope ( scope adjustments would not work unless rings were tightened under spec) . I guess I'll be pretty smart by the time I get to be 100!:D
