    Have an L46 no. 689.

Not exactly in mint condition. But it is complete, and a beautiful peace of work from Finland. The brave finish people managed to stop Soviet Union from ocupying theyr country in the first years of the 1940-ies. They strugled really hard, but managed to keep most of theyr country under finish flag also after WWII.

I find it is interesting to see a weapon made just months after WWII in Finland!:)

The rifle is worn in wood and steel. What could it be worth?

Rifle looks in decent shape. All the early stuff that we like.....barrel band, first generation wing safety, low serial #, elevated rear site, etc......In a Gunbroker auction setting, this rifle will bring big bucks. Way north of $1k, I know.

congrats on a great find !

    Hello Jerven,
What a lovely L46 in I think 7 X 33 Sako calibre. Going back to the suberb L46 article/history started by Jim Staf ANA L61, there was never an explanation regarding the hole in the front dovetail on these very early rifles - " What was It For "? My 1949 6,3 X 33R Sako L46 has the " Sako L46 " round emblem on the front dovetail, but NO hole. Please can somebody explain?

A great find! You can also probably access 7x33 ammunition in Norway, or at least obtain it from Sweden or Finland.
