I came across a Western Field-barrelled L-57 with a dark walnut, perhaps
Swede surplus stock in 243. Redfield mounts and a cheap scope. I'm thinking
of offering $300, shooting all the cheap ammo I can find, and then making it
a mountain rifle in 6.5x308. Whaddya Think? Can this action handle 260 rem
and give me 400 yards with a decent scope? Any problems with this early
four-digit action? It'll be my first SAKO.
