If Ranching isn't expensive enough, try shooting the gophers with $1.00 bullets. It makes you a better shot to keep from cutting furrows in the land with expensive 7X33 bullets. You need to be a good shot to hit these little critters and a dollar a round for bullets will do just that.

A couple more minutes and fewer misses, and I would have broken 400 gophers again...

    That’s great Kirk.
Must be the land of plenty over there.

Nice Kirk, what range were you able to make consistant hits out to with the 7x33?

The accuracy of the 7X33 is fine, the limiting factor is the 4x scope. These gophers were mostly the young of the year and aren’t much bigger than mice. The Unertl scope I have on it is a vintage scope with a plain crosshair and it will completely cover those small gophers at 75 yards and farther. I did make some shots over 100 with it and the bullets performed great...

Nice work, especially given the vintage optics and small target.
I am sure most on here are jelous you have the opportunity to put an old 7x33 to good use like that.
I would be interested to know if you noticed any wind effect on the projectiles?

No, but at the distances I was shooting, wind isn’t much of a factor. Those bullets are traveling at 2280 FPS...
