• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi all I just found your forum and I have a few questions . I have 5 different tikka's 595's 3 and 2 695's. One which I am going to rebarrel. All are left handed lucky to find them. I found a sako 75/85 6.5.x 55 new takeoff barrel and I need to know if the threads are the same (1/16) and the same diameter. I want to put this on a 695. If no won has the answer maybe somebody could direct me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. Rick

Grampyg- I would ask that question on another forum such as "campfire" or Gunbroker "ask the experts" those are Tikka brand rifles prior to Sakos ownership and I have only had experience rebarreling one LSA 55 several years ago. You might find a gunsmith that changes barrels that may know or know how to find the answer to the question.-Misako

Thanks misako I have been checking everywhere I can think of and I am not having any luck finding anybody that knows But what little I have found out is the sako barrel may be metric will make a few more calls Monday. Rick

grampyg- The sako barrels aren't metric threaded. The L579 and A2 are I" in Diameter with 16 threads per inch. The L61R is 1.04 with 16 threads per inch. I think the 75 barrels are 1" w /16 tpi but not totally sure. The L46 and the L57s were metric threaded. I don't think the barrel shank and threads for a Tikka are metric but they have a "trumpet mouthpiece" style to them and the shank is too short for interchange. -Misako
