I have just been the above rifle. I am very lucky and hit the jack pot as it has not been used at ALL.
My question is; where the barrel joins the action on the left side you have 22-250 1.9”. As I read it, this is a 1.9” twist?
    Would I be correct?
Thanks for your help in advance.

9'' twist sounds pretty fast for 22-250. Should be easy enough to measure with a tight fitting patch and a cleaning rod.

I have done the rod test and it is coming out at 1.9”. All the other info that I have found states 1.14”. It is the original barrel, Bofors barrel etc. Any one else have a 1.9”? Or could this be a special order back in the day?

If it is indeed an original "Bofors" stamped barrel it must be some kind of special order, as when the LSA 55 was made the current insane "fast twist"craze did not exist. In fact, I'm not sure one could even readily obtain the long heavy bullets in 22 cal that required a 1 in 9 twist back then. The first factory 1 in 9 twist barrels I recall were in 223 Rem in the mid 1990's. I also don't recall Tikka stamping the twist on any of their regular production rifles. Pics of the barrel stampings would help determine what you have.

The current Tikka T3X is available with an 8 twist in 22-250. Make sure it says R8 at the end of the model number. Hear it works great with 80 g and plus weight bullets.

    Looks like English proof stamping.

    It’s an odd practice.
