• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako 'Hand charging kits' for the L46 rifle.
Some of you may not have seen these before, so i thought i might share some photos.
This is some of the ones i have collected over the Years.
The early ones in 7x33 date back to the '50, and do not have a de-priming rod, but a pick to remove the Berdan primer from a twin flash hole case. They are also colour case hardened!
The later ones in 22 hornet and 22 veirling are mid '60's. They come with a rod to punch out the primer. They also have instructions dated 1964, and are printed in Finnish!
One thing which is interesting is that the projectile seating rod, is numbered to the 'code' of the projectile. So when changing projectile type, you would change the rod, to match the ogive. I have one kit in 30-06 which comes with three different ogive matched rods.

I never had the least idea that Sako ever made reloading kits. Knowing what Finland was like in the immediate postwar era, though, it makes sense. Money was scarce and a lot of Finns still lived a good ways from anywhere they could buy ammo (if they could afford it). So, it would make a lot of sense for a guy who lived out in the boonies to buy a reloading kit, some bullets and primers, and a jug of powder and load his own. This was to put meat on the table, and maybe kill some of the crows that ate your crops.
