Aftermarket! Get rid of it!Perfect thank you! Do you know if those came stock with a muzzle break or is mine after market?
What reason for getting rid of it? The rifle is a 300 Weatherby mag. Breaks are nice for recoil on larger rifles.Aftermarket! Get rid of it!
Muzzle brakes cause ferocious muzzle blast that is even more damaging to hearing than normal muzzle blast. They also spray bystanders or nearby objects with hot combustion gases -- and make your barrel longer and less easy handling. The recoil of even the .300 WBY is not enough to require reduction in order to shoot it accurately, particularly with the well-designed stock of a Sako. And the overwhelming extra noise of the muzzle brake is much more detrimental to shooting than the recoil. What reason for getting rid of it? The rifle is a 300 Weatherby mag. Good thing I hunt alone and shoot with ear pro on. When long distance shooting/ hunting it’s nice to have that less recoil to get back on target faster and see bullet impact. I think I’ll leave it lolMuzzle brakes cause ferocious muzzle blast that is even more damaging to hearing than normal muzzle blast.
