• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I posted before about a L461 needing a mag box. The rifle shoots great but it is not a repeator. The gun was built as a calling gun. I have done many searches and sources are all but dried up. What is the best way to go. I love the rifle but it is time to move on.

ZimZam- Are you in the USA? A mag box for this is not impossible to get. They are a bit pricey for all they are. If I can make one and get it to you I will. I would like to know where you are and what the pitfalls may be. I would hate to see you part with a decent rifle if you don't want to.- Regards, Mike

I am in Pennsylvania. Any help would be great. I spoke with a bunch of private dealers. They all said last year you could get them easy but they have dried up. If can email me to discuss any details. Thanks a ton

E-Mail sent. You may also try "Ridgerunner" on Gun Broker. com or as Scott mentioned- Bob's in Arizona. If the rifle does not have a mag well or floorplate assembly with the triggerguard as one unit, all bets are off and we can rethink your plight! Gee- It can be fun to shop for a new(er) Sako.-Seasons Greetings, Mike

You might also try Jack First Gun Parts. They have a web site. Their phone number is (605) 343-9544. They are great to work with. Happy New Year.

Accuflite is in PA. They may also be able to help. If I could get an example of one, I could make one with little effort. Unfortunately all I have access to are L46s and L57s and L579s.- Mike

Thanks for the info. I ran through all of the likly places including Ridgerunner. I have called 39 or 40 states and Canada so far. I keep trying to network through the collectors that sell parts. So far no dice. I got the word out in the BR community also. Hoping some one shooting prairie dogs has one the will part with on a gun they run single shot. Keep the ideas coming.
