• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello everyone

Does anyone know how many Vixens were made i 223 Rem.
I've just found one Vixen in 223 with the same bolt as made for the Hunter series.

Kjeldsen,

I am not sure that there is actually a list out there that would show exact pre-Garcia .223 manufactured. It may be that a former Sako Collectors Club member on this site can tell us for sure.

My records of shipping dates show that recorded shipment starting with serial #76,123 with a date of 3-13-68 through 126,789 dated 3-10-72 are listed. This information doesn't show that over 50k guns were made in .223; it only is a collection of know hang tag dates. Since my information lists quite a bit fewer .223s than .222s and .222 Mags you could extrapolate that into few .223s made on the pre-Garcia L461 action.

Sorry, not a very good answer, but hope it gives you an idea.

Hello SAKOveriein

Thank you for your answer. I have in fact bought the rifle now. The information I gave you were not quite exact. Please look in my photo gallery there you can se two pictures of the rifle. (Kjeldsens SAKO gallery - SAKO 223).
What have I exactly got here. It's an A1 model but with the same stock as the Vixen L491 and not the stock that came with the normal A1 Hunter?
Did SAKO first change the action on the Vixen and the later the stock?

Any information would be helpfull.
