• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I inherited 2 sako deluxes..one is a 30-06 and the other is a 223 vixen...they were purchased in 1993 the model on the vixen is L461..it has a 3 x 9 leupold scope..rosewood forarm tip and cap on grip.. and palm swell..skipped checkering... it has under the barell stoger in light lettering...it has no scratches or nicks and looks new... any thing what you guys could tell me about it would be great...value etc thanks in advance... I know its not as valuable as the real old sakos but it seems like a nice gun

so no one knows about these guns ? or am I not giving this enough time ?

Pictures may be worth a thousand words on your two deluxes. I am not real good at gauging prices or values on the newer Sakos in the Stoeger arsenal. So I will not try to guess- I will be wrong. You are also up against Labor Day weekend and the newer model "experts" are out having a good time getting some hard work in so they can go back to work to get some rest.

Ahh rittre rocust. Yes photo's will reveal all. And this "is" the place for expert commentary/evaluation.

so with no pictures theres still no idea what the 2 guns might be worth ?

Based on your descriptions the 223 is going to fetch between 1000-1400.00, the 30-06 probably closer to 6-800.00. In the L461 the 223 is a desirable chambering, at least more than it's more common 222 cousin. With the 30-06 it's probably the least desirable chambering from a valuation perspective as it's the most common. These are ballpark figures based on your descriptoins. Example, I sold a clean L461 Deluxe 222 for 1200.00 on GB last year, I also had a L61R Deluxe in 30-06 with a mint stock but the bluing was worn. It went for 500.00, I would have been better off parting it out. With Sako's condition is everything, the small action's bring more and rare chamberings can really ramp up values.
