• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

After a lot of thought, I came to the conclusion that I wanted a sako I could use without fear of degrading it value. I have seen to many nice guns lose value becauce of a mishap. NOT MINE.... Anyway, I saw a nice....almost MINT L61 pre garcia for a little more than a song and a dance(500.00 with MINT SAKO rings and a new Luepold II 3x9x40 scope. In my haste to pay the man I failed to notice a crack on the side , by the bolt release. When I took the action apart, I noticed glass on the left side by the bolt release. I have repaired the crack, as I have repaired a few shotgun cracks. The long and short of it is I would like to refinish the stock(crack), and bed the action to prevent it from cracking the stock in the future. I am looking for any suggestions ...................as I have done niether to a sako.............Evidently, I found my sako field gun..............I HOPE.........THANKS

I would look for a stock on ebay....they pop up all the time in various stages of condition. They typically sell for 75 to 150. Since you purchased the rifle for a song....another 100 bucks will make it way more valuable than one with a cracked stock. JMHO. Regards, Rick.
