• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello, I´m new here. I have a Sako Quad Range ( had it for 5 years ) with a .22lr barrel and a .22WMR barrel. . I have an extraction problem in that my extractor will not extract a fired round, but has no problem extracting unfired rounds. I can extract magasin after magasin all day long with unfired shells, but ! - Just one fired shell and it is stuck pretty hard. I am using CCI Standard velöcity. I have tried to file away a bit from the top of the extractor like many on the gun forums recommended me to do, but I took only a little - Maybe "to little" see photo. Gunsmith - Final.JPG

( I havent tried the WMR barrel yet ).

Thank you for reading this.

Did it work perfectly before? My guesses would be: First take out the extractor and clean it and the slot in the bolt. Second, try different brand or newer batch of ammunition. Third, buy a new extractor from Sako Sweden.
Sometimes the extractor groove on the back of the barrel is not cut deep enough, but messing with that should be left to a gunsmith that knows what they are doing. And if this was the problem the extraction issues would have been there from the start.
Filing the extractor is usually done to aid feeding from the magazine and it only makes extraction worse.
