• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

My name is John Carter and I'm a former Sako Clubmember from 1980's. I found the current Sako Web page and got your emailaddress from it. I've been out of guns for about 15-20 yearsand am starting to get back into them now. I had sold my collection of 30+early Sako' s to get into old muscle cars. I have since sold cars and havebeen playing around with motorcycles (NON-Harley's)!
I have a large stack of the original club news lettersform 1980's also a yellow SAKO cap, SAKO yellow small pin, and a set of 6SAKO drink glasses I had won at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Sako show in 1984. Also aBrass Sako belt buckle in a red velvet bag. Would you or anyone you know beinterested in any of these articles? Mims Reed was the SAKO Clubpresident back then and he was from .He was Known as the "Plastic Pimp" because he sold storemannequins. He had the largest, (and maybe still does), collection ofSAKO Mannlichers of that time. I met him at the show and sold him one of mySako's .

I seem to be drawn to 'COOPER RIFLES' ,now, but Istill have BIG a place in my heart for Early SAKO's .

My Email Address is: [email protected] I live in N.E.

Welcome to the club John.

Lots of memebers here are interested in the older Sakos. We all have our favorites, I especially like the AV and associated smaller action series of rifles.

Funny story about Mims Reed. Mims now has a net site selling hunting stuff. I had heard that he sold his Sako collection, but I did not speak to him first hand.

I'm sure you have done well the past few years with the muscle cars, they have gotten $ crazy!
