• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako Mannlicher-style carbines on GB

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

I noticed a couple of items on Gunbroker that might be of interest to anyone who wants to increase his collection of Mannlicher carbines - or start a collection.

1. L61R in .30-06 with AIII-style bolt shroud and stock. This must be a transition gun - basically an AIII built on a receiver stamped L61R. What caught my eye about this one is the wood - dark walnut with better grain and figure than most Deluxes. I'd be all over it but I already have a .30-06 AIII carbine that shoots half-inch groups, and I don't need two carbines identical except for the wood. Comes with an entry-level Nikon scope. If only it were any other caliber...

2. An AII carbine in .308. Carbines in .308 are hard to find. This one has dark-stained wood with nice grain. Could be a good deal for somebody depending on the bidding. I already have a similar H&R-Sako so I'm not a bidder.
Nice clean AII, penny auction! Will be fun to watch. Nice photo spread, i wish the rings weren’t attached for obvious reasons. I dig the rear sight, (but a lot of you already know that!)
