• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello to all

i purchase a sako like new L61R cal 375 h&h, and the trigger has some problems, When I open the bolt and close it suddenly, a shot goes away, the trigger is released causing the weapon to fire, and on occasions it is very difficult to open the bolt as if the trigger blocked its movement or release, which they recommend doing, perhaps putting a tinmey trigger or do something with the trigger

Your trigger needs to be disassembled & cleaned. 70+ years of crud & hardened oil has probably "gunked" it up. The Sako #4 trigger can be adjusted for weight of pull & for overtravel (backlash). If these adjustment are incorrect it can lead to the problems you have, as well. After you have cleaned & installed the trigger you can make the necessary adjustments. If you don't know how, find a competent smith who does. Sako recommends the #4 trigger should not be adjusted below 2.5#, or problems with the safety can be an issue. Incorrect adjustment of the overtravel screw is one cause for a slam fire. Safety first!!!

Hi Fan300mag,
Listen to what Mr. Paulson said, you have a disaster waiting to happen!
If you have some mechanical ability there are posts on this site that detail how to clean & adjust #4 triggers. Your trigger is very likely dirty & needs attention. Taking it to a good gun smith may be the best solution & please do not load that rifle. Be safe & best wishes, B/T

hello everyone,

updating,

I disassembled the trigger in its entirety and indeed it had grease already hardened by time that looked like a cement block, so I removed all the grease, cleaned all the pieces very well with a degreasing brush and in the end put it back together, and The trigger was incredible, it gives me a constant 2lbs,

No more involuntary firing, now if the trigger is secure, then now if I can start testing some loads with the rifle, i will use accubon 260grs and 300grs tsx and the old black box 300grs barnes that do not have gutters in their body, I hope and do not saturate the barrel of the rifle too much with copper.
Thank you all for your comments and keep in touch
