• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako L579 bolt stop spring interchanges with what other spring?

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

I may have replied before. I bent one up using spring wire from Ace Hdwe. If you follow the general form of the parts you have, it will work until you can buy one. May not be a purist acceptable part but it has withstood 1000 or more rounds in the last year or two with no problems. If you don't have the part for reference, there is a good picture of it in one of the disassembly books advertised all over. You will need only some tough fingers and fairly small needle nose pliers or the similar bending pliers in jewelers' supply stores. You don'have to make the complicated bend, just keep in mind the general form of a clothespin. Piece of cake.

Just from looking at pictures of Sako model A1 to A4 rifles; I think there bolt stop springs will work in my L579. Now all I have to do is find one. Bob.

If you can get the measurements off of an existing spring, i.e. coils per inch, o.d. and thickness of wire, contact Wolfe springs. They may be able to help. Worked for me when I need a mainspring for a Finnwolf.
