• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello Sako Lovers,
Can somebody tell me how far the safety lever is supposed to move on the L46 right-hand safety model? The safety lever on my L46 moves only a fraction either way. Is their an audible "Click" one should hear when the safety is operated? Any information on the L46 S/L would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking to buy a 1950's peep-sight for my 1952 L46. If any member has one for sale, please P.M. me.

I've managed to flip mine a few times this summer to shoot at groundhogs. This is just a guess, but it seems that if looking at it from the side, safe would be at the 10 o'clock postion and fire would be at the 2 o'clock position. Don't think it goes beyond those two positions, and perhaps a little less. Again, this is just guess. I keep the gun at my dad's farm, and plan to load it again this weekend. If this is wrong, I'll let you know.

Never heard an "audible click", but the safety does make a sound when rolled over to fire.

Blackjack: Deergoose has described exactly how my L46 RHS works. There is considerable movement involved in operating the safety lever from safe to fire. There should also be a pin that protrudes from the back of the bolt block (mine has red paint on it) to indicate that the rifle is in the fire mode when you push the lever forward. This pin should move back in and be flush with the bolt block when the lever is in the safe position. My lever is quite stiff in it's operation. When I first got it I thought it was stuck or broken, but a thorough cleaning & lubrication made it function properly. If you don't see the pin movement there is something wrong with your safety mechanism or it may be just gunked up like mine was. Let me know what you find out.
