With Sako's the serial number alone provides very little in determining what you have. I suggest you peruse the forum section on Sako medium actions & you will most likely find the answers. More pictures would allow members here to better determine what you have.

There is no way to tell the exact year of manufacture, but with that serial number series and designated L579, it was probably made in the very late 1970's. Sako probably used a 1-12" twist, or its near metric equivalent, for its .308 barrels. It will handle any conventional ammunition just fine but if you intend to shoot very heavy "target-style" or "long-range" bullets with long noses you might run into a stability problem.

And Welcome, Bienvenidos! We have very few members from the great country of Mexico.
