• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I need a little information on a Sako 30-06 that I recently inherited. It has Finnbear on the barrel with the Gracia stamp on the bottom. On the
reciever, it has L61R with a serial # 500178. Could anyone give me the production date and approximate value. I'm new to Sako's, but I can tell this is one fine made rifle.
Thanks,
DLO

I don't know where you're located but if you were interested in investing the cost of a long distance call I'd suggest you telephone Stoeger Canada (Canadian Sako Importer) at 905-436-9077 and ask to speak to Peter. I'm pretty sure he'll be able to date your rifle for you.

I'm curious as to the condition of your rifle? Also can have a look and and see if it has the knurled bolt handle and one-piece trigger guard/floor plate assembly? These features are of the early AV production run and are desirable. I suspect with that serial number you may be in that erra. If so and if your rifle is in nice condition then you definitely have a keeper.

Another suggestion would be to e-mail daveg1 at [email protected] and ask him about your rifle or he may even see your post and respond to it.
