• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako Deluxe 222 Mag For Sale On GunsAmerica

Definitely a replacement - looks like they had some problem getting it off as you can see chipping on the right side along the top of it. But a very nice gun. It is amazing though how many guns have never been shot, guess if you buy it you will need to sight in the scope, and it sure was nice to provide a trigger shoe on a gun they never fired - talk about forward thinking !! LOL

I guess I am in the same boat as you. Descriptions on these guns can get a bit unrealistic when you think of what a guy does to make it shoot and then decides not to.

I believe its a replacement. The vent pattern is the early pattern which is very seldom seen on this serial number range, the white spacer is too white compared with the other two white spacers (could have been sanded), and of course the chips pointed out by marlin92.

This one was shipped in 1971 according to records. Somehow, a floorplate from a Deluxe A-1 with the stylized fox found its way onto a 1971 rifle. I don't think that happened at the factory unless someone with a DeLorean delivered it "Back to the Future".

It's a nice rifle, just not original.
