• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi Sako people
Does anyone know of books on Sakos? I cannot find any at Amazon, I suppose there are none. Also, where can one find Sako patches, lapel pins and related stuff that are shown here on the site?
Thanks in advance.

Hello SakoJames,

There are a few books about Sakos, most of them are in Finnish. The best reference according to posters on this site is the three volume set called Arma Fenica. All but one volume is strictly Finnish and the other is only partial English. It is seldom seen here, but I did see the partial English book sell on Ebay about a year ago.

As for the patches they are also hard to find. Since the early FI and Garcia patches are not made anymore you will have to scour gun shows and maybe Ebay. I will see them there sometimes.

Good luck,

Arma Fennica is about the only useful reference book I am aware of. The Ruitgers Book Service in New Jersey used to carry it, but I don't know if they still have it. You only need Volume 1, which is mostly sporting arms and contains some English. Volume II is all military and all in Finnish. Volume III is knives and bayonets.

Sako published a book to celebrate its 50th anniversary. It is in Finnish; some copies have a pamplhlet enclosed with an English translation. Nice book, lots of pictures. You can sometimes find it on eBay.
