The 85 Finnbear was produced in smaller numbers and was distributed through Europtic and Cabela’s. There may have been other companies who had some but the two mentioned definitely had stock. Towards the end of the cycle they were heavily discounted.

The rifle obviously was built on an 85 action but the stock was reminiscent of the classic Finnbear rifles, with it’s squared off edges. It was also trimmed at the fore tip and grip cap. The cap had the bear head inlaid like a deluxe rifle. I owned one briefly, but it simply didn’t fit or feel good for me. It was gorgeous regarding the figure and finish.

Value is difficult to determine, but there is a nice example on Gunbroker. The starting price is in considerably lower than many wood stocked 85’s. Hope this helps.
