• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

I have seen this rifle on Sako's Finnland site. It is loaded with all of the features an old timer would want in a hunting rifle. Is it going to be available for the US market? Has anyone seen one of these?

I think Gun Test Magazine tested this rifle and had rather poor results with both the action and accuracy. You may not want to take my word for it, go to Gun Test Magazine. They were not impressed with the reliability of the control-round feed action if I remember correctly.

I tend to focus on older Sako's so if this rifle is indeed an improvement, that would be a wonderful thing.

lomgshot,

Magazine articles and reviews are very subjective. Try to find as much information as you can before you make a decision. Someone who actually has one would be a better source due to hands on experience.

I like the pre-'72's as well, and although I have two Model 85's, there's nothing remarkable about them like the oldies. The 85 has a good " feel" for hunting in the field (or wherever you hunt). I still think they are a cut above the "standard brands" here in the US.

Rifles will perform differently with manufacture's loads and different bullet types and weights. I would think if you like the rifle you could find the ammunition that will suit you.

Don't know about the availability in the US, but I would think you could order one thro...ugh, Beretta. If you don't want to do the telephone dance with Beretta, Google Accuflite Arms in PA and talk to JB there. He would most likely know about the Classic Deluxe import situation.

Good Luck,

S-A

All I could find on Gun Test is an article on the Sako 75 Finnlite. You are right, they didn't fall in love with it. The Classic Deluxe is a new model for 2011. I doubt anyone has done a formal evaluation on it yet. I have faith in Sako, hard to fathom they would come out with an utter turd. Controlled round feed - If you want one you have to buy rifles from the old times. Huge claw extractor doesn't necessarily mean controlled round feed any more. Have a Ruger MK II which basically functions like a push fed. My ZKK 600 from 1971 is a true CRF.
