Wow, Chrisss31 sure has some nice tools at his disposal! Here's the cleaned up parts snugly nestled in an aluminum jig, and after the weld. Good as new, thanks to Chrisss31!

Wow, that's nice work. You'll probably want to cold blue the part for rust protection.

Thanks guys. I get a kick out of projects like this one. I love the fact that Chris is resurrecting his dad’s old Sako, it just felt right to chip in.

Just got the connector plate back from Chrisss31, going to be added to my order to get the barrel, action and all the hardware reblued and finished.

Also in the mail today came what appears to be an extremely rare gloss black Leupold VX1 2-7x33. New in box from Cliff's in southern's UT. He has some other older scopes in stock for what appears to be the original list pricing of $203 for mine. ebay wants 2-3x for scratched up used ones...

That paired with Sako factory medium 1" scope rings from Custom Shop, I think I have that set up, except for maybe some lens covers. Any recommendation?

Now the wait. I'm sure the stock will be done first, I decided to go pro and careful. The reblueing backlog is 5-6 months, and that's a bitch.

Glad it’s coming together for you Chris.
There will be a lot of satisfaction in it, once it’s back to its former glory.

It’ll come together soon enough! I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Love me a full sized 2x7. IMHO it is better for deer than a 3x9. Nice find!
