The only method I can reasonably come up with is to install a picatinny rail on the dovetails, then you have a platform for a red dot. Contessa and a couple of other companies make a rail for Sako, action length specific. Otherwise you’d have to most likely butcher something together bubba style. Hope this helps BD.

to add, I’ve got some Weavers I’ll give you. lol…

Aimpoint and Millett, among others, used to make red dot sights with 1" tubes to fit in conventional rings. I'm not aware of any such sights being made now, but the older ones can be found on the secondary market. I recently found a like-new Millett red dot at a gun show, and mounted it in Ruger factory rings on a Mini-14. It replaced a newer red dot on a Picatinny rail, which I removed. I like the setup with the rings better than mounting a rail on top of the factory mounts. Here's a photo.

Some of those old red dots also came with tube extensions to mount on longer actions. They screwed into the main tube just like a hood, only with a longer threaded section for strength.

MAK makes a mount for AimPoint Micros. Goes on the front dovetail. Leaves the ejection port clear.
