• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Finnwolf VL63 Peep Sight adjustment

Hello all.

I used the search feature but didn't find an answer, so......

How do you adjust the factory peep sight? It appears that for windage: you loosen the opposing screw and tighten the other until you have moved the sight the correct amount.............correct? Are the screws calibrated?

For Height I see a screw on top..........is there another screw underneath that has to be accessed by removing the sight from the base?

If this has already been discussed, please point me to the proper thread.

Thanks.

Well my angst over adjusting the peep sight was for naught.

The last time I shot this rifle was 40 years ago and it sported a 4X scope then. When my dad retired it, he removed the scope and reinstalled the factory peep (which I didn't even know he had....).

Anyway I took my 1st shot at 50 yards just to see if I was in the ball park......dead on, 1.5” high.

Hmmmm.....lets try 100 yards. At 100 yards the front blade covers the entire target. I tried to center it the best I could and proceeded to place 5 rounds in the bull.

So I’m calling it good.

And some doubt the accuracy and repeatability of the Sako dovetails! My experiences are similar which is why I go out of my way to use factory rings.
