Hi guys, I have a question regarding my P94s Varmint that I picked up this week. In this picture of the top of the bolt, you can see a little dimple, this dimple from what I have seen on other P94s should be a hole for what I’d assume would be escaping gasses.

Anyone came across one that looks like mine or any ideas of what might have happened here?

    Thanks :)

My P94S has the same dimple in the same place. I don't see any function that it would serve. Perhaps it is an index mark used in the manufacturing process?

Thanks for the reply! Good to hear that mine isn’t alone.
I have since found a couple more that look like ours so I believe I can stress less

Underneath that dimple is the hole for the extractor axle. The drill didn't make it all the way through as it shouldn't. Pretty much all P94S and P04R bolts have this kind of dimple or incomplete hole on the top. It is there so you can use a small punch to tap the axle out the bottom.

Excellent bit of info, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear it’s not some sort of defect.
