• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have reciently inherited several Sako rifles and a couple of them I am having a hard time figuring out exactly what they are. I think they are older Sako 75 Stainless Synthetics but I'm not sure. I read several other posts on this forum and knew it would be a great place for good accurate information. The two I am interested in find out a little more about are two that I plan to sell so if anyone is interested let me know. The 30-06 is in 98% condition and the .243 in 95% condition.

A brief description:

The 30-06 rifle has a stainless barrel and a grey synthetic stock with rubbery inserts on the gripping surface. On the side of the action it is marked " Sako IV." It has a detachable box magazine and on the underside of the barrel it says "Imported by Stoeger Inc Wayne N.J." The serial number is 92721** (I'm not sure if its ok to post all six digits but I can if need be). The .243 rifle is exactly the same except the action is marked "Sako III" and it has a trap door non-removable style magazine.

I have attached a couple pictures If anyone can tell me what exactly these rifles are, approximatley how old they are, and what they are worth I would really appreciate the information.
