Sounds right. Maybe less recoil helps? Less muzzle jump?

    Muzzle jump….recoil management.
This is my thoughts only…many shooters , especially some I see on the many hunting shows of current production, exercise poor form, for instance … butt pad placement to the shoulder. It needs to be fully squared in contact to the shoulder. If you fire a rifle with only the bottom tip of it riding high on the shoulder, the muzzle jump is way more profound. This jump upward throws the shots high, simply because the bore axis is rising, even during the nano-seconds of time it takes for the bullet to exit the barrel. This is , to me, the reason we find so many shooters with accuracy problems. Bad habits are more than likely the main cause.

It’s interesting that there are several recent posts on newly bought L61Rs. The one I just bought looks like the same rifle, except for checkering on the forearm, and three point grip checkering. Mine is 7xxxx.

Saw your ammo pouches, look good. Some time ago we had Brizilian Cherry flooring installed in our home , I saved the scraps to make bullet pouches to carry to the stand, Some hold 5 some 6 or 7 depending on how big the scrap wood was. I made some for my sons, wife & friends. I'll try to send pics.
