• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Have an old friend who would like me to identify and possibly someday sell his Sako for him. I would like to verify what I think is a L46 - He purchased new in early 50's and shot less than a box since then. S/N361xx - have attched photos showing two stock ding otherwise blueing and wood pristine ( I think) Can anyone verify date & model and also a ballpark on value - have other photos if needed - understand I am limited to four thanks

You are spot on as to what it is. As far as value, I would think somewhere north of 750 would be about right. The scope mounts look interesting but hard to pinpoint what they are. We wouldn't mind better pics and a location of your market area.-Misako

I think those are Leupold Adjusto Mounts. If so, I was unaware they were ever made for the Sako dovetails.

Looks like a nice rifle, Vircar. The .222 is by far the most common chambering in the L46, so it won't bring the premium of some other chamberings. But if the first two photos show the only marks on the gun, then it should bring the top of the market for a .222.

they are Luepold mounts and seem to be adjustable if you mean the ajustable screw on the rear mount. - Am in the northwest corner of states - attached more photos thanks for info so far

Yep........those are Leupold Adjusto mounts and rings.

I have a set of them from an L461 actioned rifle, from the 1960's.

They are finely made little jewels.
