• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

L61r asked new member to introduce himself, so here am I.
I live in Tikkakoski, Finland and like to hunt mainly capercaille and black grouse as well as shoot target to which I have very good conditions due 300m military shooting range only few km:s away.
Just recently my father passed me his very early SAKO 7x33 rifle that his uncle bought him shiortly after the rifle came to the market. This rifle has always had great sentimental value to me, as dad and I used to hunt together. Unfortunately ageing does itsxB4 tricks...
Thirst to know more of the gun lead me here and this vivid forum was a good reason to join in.
For hunting, in addition to Sako 7x33, I have 7mm Rem Mag Tikka/LxF6ppxF6 + Leopold scope and Valmet 412S with 26" barrels. So obviously there seems to be a finnish tendency or depending the point of view, a hint of protectionism in my hunting gun selections

. Well, on hand guns I currently go for US and German/Swiss designs.
Thanks to be part of good bang, err...gang!

Nice to hear from you and glad you joined up.

It's no suprise to me that you lean toward Finnish weapons, especially living where you do. Heck, I lean heavily toward them and I'm many thousands of miles away.

Your 7x33 is the best possible type of family heirloom there is in my view. Congrats! Dick
