• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Sako New Member needing assistance!

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Hello,
I have a Sako 22 Hornet passed down to me from my dad. He lost the clip (which he was sick about). He has since passed away, the gun is very special to me and I am desperate to locate a clip. Evidently, they are extremely hard to find. I ordered an aftermarket and it did not fit. Please help!

About all you can do is keep looking. They can show up on ebay & the internet gun auction/sale sites occasionally. They are a detachable box magazine, not a "clip" as many erroneously call them, so be sure to search both names. Sometimes they even show up for sale here. Good luck!!

Thank you, for the info.

Deborah: Your .22 Hornet could either be an L46 (usually has the word "Rihiimaki" on the LH side of the receiver), or a P72, P75, or P78 (all very similar, with the designation also on the LH side of the receiver). The magazines for the two types of Sakos are quite different, so maybe you got the magazine intended for the other. Another possibility is that the after-market magazine you did get is the "right" one, but needs fitting to your rifle. If so, it is a task that even a modestly-skilled gunsmith could achieve. If you could post a photo of your rifle we might be able to help you.
