• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Lever Action Need info Sako Finnwolf

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Recently acquired a neat little Sako Finnwolf chambered in .308WIN. The serial number is in the low 1200’s. I assume it was a V2 rifle with heavier barrel. What’s different about this rifle is obviously the synthetic stock. I took it all apart and everything seems sound. Maybe the barrel has been cut down slightly. Needing some info on this - who might have made the lightweight stock, etc? Thx.

Congrats on your Finnwolf purchase. From the limited picures it does appear the barrel has been cut down. A picture of the muzzle would likely confirm it.

Several years ago, when I was actively playing with my finnwolfs, I found a stock on the "net" that was composite. I jumped on it. I found out from the seller that he made a few and lost interest for various reasons. I also found that he had another and purchased it. My older brother loved it for shooting long range prairie dogs (Richardson's) and I don't have the heart to get it back. Mine went to .243 and it was a real good fit. I had fun decorating it and it shoots well. I didn't fill in the recoil cross bolt inlet as yours is. I tried to get him to make some but he had gone on to other interests and "such is life". The following are pictures of it in 22-250 as it was as original. Parts were all Sako save for the stock, 000_0192.jpg 000_0193.jpg 000_0192.jpg 000_0193.jpg

Some great info here. I’ll post some photos of the barrel. I do believe it has been cut down. The front site is missing.
Neither the 22-250 Barrel the .243 or the 7MM-08s I found were made with front sights. All went on the Wolfs. I would be curious to see inside the stock how they accounted for the possible lack of the recoil crossbolt, as it has a union with the hanger that the "clip" fastens to.

Posted some photos of the stock. Does anybody have any idea on value?
