Bit of a background on this rifle, I saved this beauty from a skip bin from an ex girlfriend mother cleaning out the grandfathers garage 15 years ago. He was a mad fox hunter. It Was missing the magazine at the time, I found one that fitted a few years ago thanks to this forum. Would like to know a bit about this rifle if anyone has any information, I am most likely going to sell it this year and as much as I know about it would be better. Apologies for the terrible photos. This gun shoots better than any other rifle I own. I have shot through the same hole on multiple occasions
    Cheers
    Mike

    G’day MikeVR,
That is a very desirable rifle, particularly being a mannlicher/fullstock.
There’ll be a que if it goes up for sale, I’ve sent you a pm :)

    Hello Mike VR & Jim,

What is the length of barrel on these full - wood Sako L46's? and what calibres were the full woods available in? Thanks.

These marvelous rifles appear to have the same 23.6" barrel as the half-stock rifles. The longer barrels were common on early Sako Mannlichers. A 7x33 I once owned had a 23.6" barrel. I'm not sure when they first offered the Mannlicher in a carbine length, but it was somewhat later.

So far as I'm aware, Sako made at least some Mannlichers in all the calibers that they chambered in the L46. I've seen a 7x33, .22 Hornet, and .222, but can't remember seeing a .218 or .25-20 although I think there are some out there.
