• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi
Just returned from Sweden, where I found this beauty.
Born in 1971, never fired (well probably a few times at the factory for testing purposes) and never carried around. I'm not sure whether I'll bring it hunting, or just enjoy having the gun in my shelf...

A few pic's:

tagergaad,
Welcome to the forum. Beautiful rifle. What caliber is it in? That bottom metal engraving is sweet. I think I would not take that in the field unless I put a back-up stock on the action.
You'll get some comments on this one. Glad you joined us.

Tagergaard- That is carrying a bit of engraving that I have not seen. I will place a picture of it in our Sako Bottom Metal (Floor plate) Engraving AArchive. Great looking rifle and thanks for the picture.-Misako

Hi S-A.
It's 222, my favorite for fox and other small game. I've already deceided, it will not go hunting...
I'll strip the Zeiss scope off, and remove the Chineese mount, and keep it in the shelf with open sights only.
I got an older L46, who will take care of the hunting, together with my Winchester 70. (did I say something wrong ;-))
@misako50, I could take some better pictures of the engraving if you like?
A bad day hunting is better than a good day at the office.

tagergaard- It is OK to swear on this forum a little. Pretty hard to express yourself, at times, if you don't. I don't need a better photo for the album and it will take some time to get it up.Thanks, Misako

I have never seen a Deluxe with open sights, at least not in the US. Was this something only offered on Euro guns?

I believe you have caught on to their tricks. There seems to be quite a number of open sighted (rear and front) that the european crowd is sporting. I for the life of me don't know why we were only given peep sight options. I never liked peepsights.-Misako

Tagergaard!
Thanks for posting! Never seen this patten myself!
There are some good items to be found in Sweden every now and then!:smile1:

tagergaard: Amazing rifle- never seen the pattern of engraving previously. The open sights are a nice touch and something I have become increasing fond of. They are more common in the European market as more hunters traditionally use them and use them well. Thanks for sharing.

Any specific detail you want more pictures of? I'll gladly make some more.
I'm in Denmark, but hunt a lot in sweden. Deer, fox and birds mainly.
I'm planning on expanding my SAKO collection, got a L46 (222), a few Winchester 70's (222 and 243) and a Ruger M77 (308) in the safe, but there's room for another SAKO or two.

thanks for sharing, tagergaard ! Awesome engraving pattern, I nearly skipped a breath when I saw it ! Please post more pics of the sights, if you are able to.

great find and congrats!

I stripped the Zeiss scope off, and now I can really feel the balance and ease of handling, it's a sweetie..

It ended quite satisfactory.
