• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

My A V 7mm mag and my grand dad's field coat in Africa

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Beautiful animals. I take it from the shadow stripes on the plains zebra that you were in either South Africa or Namibia. I took a Hartmann's (mountain) Zebra in Namibia in 2007 with my Sako .338; now I'm getting antsy to return to take a plains Zebra so I'll have a "set".

Sakos and Africa go well together. I wish that more folks here on the Forum would post their African photos (as well as their hunting photos from other parts of the world.)

Thanks Stonecreek.

Yes, RSA. Limpopo province on the correctly identified Burchell's zebra, and Kudu.

I agree that Sakos and Africa go together. I carry a Sako here in the US and nobody knows what it is.

I went to Africa and my lead outfitter and PH had two: one in .375 and one in .270. I shot both of them on the range and they felt just like home to me.

I'll try to post one more picture ( I have many :) )

best regards

Thanks.

He died in 1976 and I've had his hunting jacket ever since.

He could never have dreamed his coat would end up in Africa. He was an old time Italian who hunted rabbits every day of the season in Michigan until he died at 74 y.o. No joke, every day of the season without fail. I think the rabbit season in Michigan is like four months long too! He was something else.

Thanks for your comments. That one picture means an awful lot to me.

Rick

Baugust,

Only two of the pictures came through for some reason. Maybe you can try to post some more.

Great pictures of blue wildebeest and impala ram!

How big was the wildebeest? Did you measure it? The bosses look old and "bulgy" like I like them. Well done.

I also hunted in Kwa-zulu Natal. I loved it. Were you in the Drackensburgs?

Feel free to post more here if you like.

Thanks for the input,

Bossmustangace

Here's one of a blesbok ram............if I can get this to upload......
