• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hello All,

I am looking for a gunsmith that has experience with the Finnwolf. I would like to get it proffesionaly cleaned and reblued. I live in NY and would like some help. Thanks. Anthony

I've heard that most gunsmiths won't touch your rifle. The Finnwolf is prone to breaking firing pins and the complexity of the action is what keeps gunsmiths away from this rifle. You can try some of the gun websites to find a gunsmith within your Zip code area, but you may have to send it to a specialist, like Todd Ramirez at the Beretta Gallery in Dallas. Either way, this could be costly to do the job right. Good luck.

I have used a gunsmith that lives in Utopia Texas to reblue 3 of my old sakos and a couple others. He is the best I have seen to reproduce the original bluing of the sako.He is a big collector of sako.He is also very reasonable on the price. If you would like his address please email me at [email protected]

Deergoose,
I don't know why the Finnwolf has this reputation of being difficult to work on, I have dissassembled mine numerous times to check it & clean it and have allways been able to reassemble it with ease. The SECRET it that the gear action pawls are ever so slightly dished and need to reassembled in exactly the same way. I just lay them on a sheet of glass to detect the right way round. Once thats done, they are easy to reassemble
