• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

L691 R 338 win mag with factory stainless barrel

Sako Collectors Club Discussion Forum

Does it also have a stainless action and a wood stock? Sako made a few of these in the Model 75, but I did not recall them being available in the earlier L691. I wouldn't say that it is rare, but it is certainly a lesser-known model. I thought they were pretty attractive compared to the usual synthetic stock found on most stainless guns. Post a photo if you get an opportunity.

It is a blued action with a very nice wood stock. I used to work in a gun store and it was imported directly from Finland. It shoots like a hot damn.

Do you know where I can get replacement screws for Sako actions. I lost one of the screws that holds the bolt release on to the receiver?

Go to the top of any page and hit the 'forum' button and it will take you to the main page. From there, scroll down to the catagory that's relevant, and click on it. Look for the button that says 'start a new thread', and you've got it. Give it an appropriate title. Dick

Jimmy,

Try Maryland Metrics https://mdmetric.com/. They show Oval Head Slotted M3.5 X 8 mm with a 6.5 mm diameter head. You may have to rework the screws to make them fit. The screws in my L61R are oval head slotted but the head is 5 mm in diameter. This is a non standard diameter. Also, the screws are zinc plated. If you want to remove the plating leave them in a weak acid like vinegar for a while.

Tracy

Ps: They also have flat heads with a 6.5 mm diameter head if you want to try to make them fit.
