• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi Sako Consultants,

My name is Bob and I live in South Carolina. I've hunted all over the world Africa, Germany, Mexico, Canada and of course USA. That was when I was younger and times were better now I only hunt Pa and SC. In the past I had many guns some rare and some not so rare yet never a Sako. I like the Sako product a lot just never bought one.

Now my new friends I need your help. This forum is great and I've learned a lot just by reading your post. My question is this. My uncle had a Sako 220swift he does'nt know what model or year it was. From what I've read here I think its a Forester L579. Ok the story is that my Uncle took off the floor plate sent it to Germany to be engraved. Before the floorplate came back there was a house fire and all guns were lost including the Sako. If in fact it is a L579 Forester, will the floorplate fit the 243cal. & 308cal.? I really would like to get a nice 308.

Hey thanks for the time and any help. I'm proud to be a part of your world........

Welcome to the forums bob451- I have to assume since I have no picture-- that the rifle is an early Garcia import that has the small round plunger for a floorplate release. If you can keep your choices to late Firearms Intl. Imports (1969 and up) to the A11s from the Stoeger era, You should be good to swap them out. Please keep the original so your rifle can remain unaltered if the need arises to sell it.-Misako

bob451,
Hello, neighbor. Welcome to the forum. Misako sounds like he is right on the money - without seeing a picture. By all means, save original parts (don't sell them).
Good luck in your investigative process. You came to the right place.
