• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

Hi everyone. I was doing some gun cleaning recently and noticed that the varmint stock on my L469 is slightly different to my other heavy barrelled sakos in that the beaver tail or wide forend section of the stock is approximately 30mm shorter and starts further forward of the action. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this before? I have attached a couple of pics for reference. The Gun in question is second from the bottom in the top photo.
For those interested all Sakos in the top photo are .222 Magnums with the second from the top having the Aussie bolt. All have multigroove barrels ie. 12 lands and grooves.
The second photo starting from the bottom shows my L579 22-250, followed by two L579’s in .243 and an A3 in 7mm Rem Mag.
Regards Don

Nice collection there Kirk. If that is the L469 at the back with the blonde stock then it is very similar to mine.

Great Pics from Don and Kirk.
All I have is an L461 HB in .222RM that I am very happy with.
A question for Don, do you shoot any in that Harem of yours!?

Also If I may take this opportunity, I am after an AV or L 61R in 7mm RM, any one got one they may want to move on? Just a long shot.
Again, great to see a great collection of truly beautifully made firearms.
All the Best for the New Year to all members.....

Thanks Jay and happy new year to you also.
I do shoot most of them sparingly at range with hand loads in an effort to fine tune accuracy. Sorry but not keen to let the 7mm go as they are a bit hard to come by in the heavy barrel.

Hi Don,
Tx. For response.
I am after after a sporter weight 7mm RM for hunting.
Great to hear you take the rifles out for a shot, that would be great.
Tx. Jay
