Hi guys. Acquired a few of these L46 22 Hornet Magazines. I know they aren’t original to the L46s but have been told Sako still produced them. True or not. Also what value would you place on these.
    Thanks!

Those old L46's had different length magazines, some for the 25.20, 7x33 & 22 hornet and then longer to accomodate the 222 rem and 222 rem mag. How long are they?

Magazines for the L46 222 Rem sell in the $75 to $100 range, last I remember. Magazines for the L469 222 Rem Mag are much scarcer & sold in the $200 to $250 range when I bought one about 5 years ago. Your Hornet mags appear to be for the earlier "short" mag well & are probably as hard or harder to find than the L469 mags. An auction would be the best way to find market value.

I don’t think that is a Sako magazine. I saw some advertised on Gunbroker and bought 2 thinking I would have some spares, but when they showed up, they were not Sako and didn’t fit like an original Sako. I think I paid around $35.00 each.

Here is a link to an older post on magazines with some pictures to help visualize the sizes and differences in some of these magazines...

Yes, those magazines are aftermarket and not Sako factory, but they are still useful.

I've had pretty good luck with the aftermarket magazines made for the L46 .222; they usually go for somewhere in the $35 to $40 range -- right now all that gunclips.com has are aftermarket 6-shot magazines which are about $60, IIRC. I bought some "short" magazines for the L46 .218 Bee/.25-20 some time back and paid in somewhere in the $30's I think. I actually modified those for my 7x33 Sako and they work fine.

There are so relatively few L46 .22 Hornets -- especially with the shorter magazine -- that there isn't a large market for aftermarkets like those. That is, unless you happen to have a Sako L46 Hornet without a magazine! I would guess that people who have an L46 Hornet which uses the short magazine would typically be willing to pay $50 or so to have an aftermarket spare, but that will vary with the individual owner.
