• Hey All! Lately there has been more and more scammers on the forum board. They register and replies to members requests for guns and/or parts or other things. The reply contains a gmail or hotmail address or similar ”anonymous” email addresses which they want you to reply to. DO NOT ANSWER ANY STRANGE MESSAGES! They often state something like this: ”Hello! Saw your post about purchasing a stock for a Safari. KnuckleheadBob has one. Email him at: [email protected]” If you receive any strange messages: Check the status of whoever message you. If they have no posts and signed up the same day or very recently, stay away. Same goes for other members they might refer to. Check them too and if they are long standing members, PM them and ask if the message is legit. Most likely it’s not. Then use the report function in each message or post so I can kick them out! Beware of anything that might seem fishy! And again, for all of you who registered your personal name as username, please contact me so I can change it to a more anonymous username. You’d be surprised of how much one can find out about a person from just a username on a forum such ad our! All the best! And be safe! Jim

If you haven't checked out the Sakos for sale on gunbroker.com in the last day or two you owe it to yourself to go in and look. Wow, a fellow has some absolute killers for sale. Instant sako collection.

I had posted my need for a Riihimaki bolt a while back, not expecting to ever find one. Well, a fellow out in California had a stripped bolt body and that was all I needed. It arrived and I managed to get the externals and internals pulled off of the old bolt and installed into the new body and it fits the single shot action like a glove. So, a nice little Riihimaki will be back in action when I get a new barrel fitted. Small miracles do happen!! Santa must have been reading our postings.

Am I missing something? Whoever said that IS missing something. Either the ability to recognize rarity or knowledge of computer browsing. One of the models the author of this thread is emphasising is the Rhiimaki 218 Bee in Mannlicher style. How often do you see these? It started at auction at one cent and is now over $2500 with reserve NOT met.

Reality just poked its ugly nose in my rebuild of the Riihimaki. The little spring steel extractor on the old bolt was broken when the .17 A&M; Bee blew a case head. I figured when I found the bolt body and everything fit, I had it by the short hairs. Called Jim Lutes about the extractor. He said he had two left. Asked if I was sitting down and, if I wasn't, I had better. Price $135!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That little extractor is about 1/8" wide and 1.25" long. Broke my heart. May just pull the extractor from one of my "Safe Queens" and use it. A buddy who does some 'smithing for me says he has modified Remington bolts to take the Sako extractors favored by the benchrest boys and to bring the bolt up and he'll see if he can put one in this bolt. If that comes off I'll let you know.
